Dodital Darwa Pass Trek – Complete Itinerary

Day 01 :
Drive from Dehradun to Agoda Village via Uttarkashi

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Agoda village, passing through the bustling town of Uttarkashi. The route winds through picturesque mountain landscapes, pine forests, and the Bhagirathi River valley. Uttarkashi, a hub for trekking and pilgrimage routes, is a great place to stop for a meal and stretch your legs before the final leg to Agoda.

Agoda is a quaint village where you will either stay in a local lodge or set up camp for the night, getting ready for the next day’s trek.

Day 02 :
Trek from Agoda Village to Manjhi via Bhebra

The trek begins with a gradual ascent from Agoda. On the way, you’ll cross the small village of Bhebra, where terraced fields and simple homes give you a glimpse of traditional life in the mountains. The trail winds through oak, deodar, and rhododendron forests, offering cool, shaded pathways.

You’ll reach Manjhi, a small campsite surrounded by thick forests and offering peaceful, remote surroundings. Set up camp for the night and relax in your twin-sharing tent.

Day 03 :
Trek from Manjhi to Dodital Lake

The trek to Dodital Lake is relatively short but incredibly rewarding. As you make your way through the forest, the air becomes cooler, and you’ll start to notice the shimmering blue water of Dodital Lake approaching. The lake, situated at an elevation of 3,024 meters, is known for its crystal-clear waters and is surrounded by dense forests of oak, pine, and deodar.

Spend the afternoon exploring the lake and visiting the nearby Ganesh Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, who is believed to have been born here. Fishing enthusiasts can try catching trout fish, which are abundant in the lake. You’ll camp near the lake in twin-sharing tents, enjoying the calm atmosphere of this magical place.

Day 04 :
Trek from Dodital to Darwa Pass and Darwa Top

  • Time: 8 to 10 hours
  • Highest Point: Darwa Top (~4100 m)
  • Accommodation: Twin-sharing tent

Get an early start, as today’s trek is the most challenging and rewarding of the trip. Leave Dodital camp by 6 AM and begin the ascent toward Darwa Pass. The trail is steep and rocky, with some switchbacks, but the spectacular mountain views are worth every step. As you reach the pass (3,780 meters), you’ll be greeted by panoramic views of the Bandarpunch and Swargarohini ranges, along with the Garhwal Himalayas.

For those who wish to explore further, a short but steep climb will take you to Darwa Top, which stands at around 4,100 meters. The views from here are breathtaking, with snow-clad peaks stretching into the horizon.

Day 05 :
Trek from Dodital to Agoda via Manjhi and Bhebra

Today, you’ll begin your descent back to Agoda village. Retracing your path through Manjhi and Bhebra, the trek takes you back through the beautiful forested trails you crossed earlier. Upon reaching Agoda, you can choose to stay in a local lodge or set up camp for the night, enjoying a well-deserved rest after your long trek.

Day 06 :
Drive from Agoda to Dehradun

The final day of your journey involves a scenic drive back to Dehradun. After breakfast, pack up and enjoy the last views of the Garhwal Himalayas before making your way down to the plains.
